This collection consists of papers of Wyman family members of Ashby, Lowell, and Boston, Mass.; papers of Churchill family members of Milton and Dorchester, Mass.; personal papers of Dorothy Churchill (Wyman) Martin of Boston, Mass.; and genealogical materials on Wyman and related families.
Abijah Wyman (1745-1804), captain in Colonel Prescott's Massachusetts Battalion, Continental Army; and general store owner of Ashby, Mass. Married (1st) in 1768 Elizabeth Stearns; m. (2nd) Martha Stevens (d. 1814).
Among his children was John Wyman (1782-1816). He m. (1st) Betsy Osborn (d. 1805) and (2nd) Eunice Prescott Hildreth. They had Franklin Hildreth (b. 1807), Laura P. (b. 1809), and John Sidney Wyman (b. 1810).
John Sidney Wyman (b. 1810) m. (1st) Lavinia Rogers and (2nd) Maria Downs (d. 1913). They had John (d. 1900, no children) and Franklin Abijah (alternately Albert) Wyman (1850-1922).
Franklin A. Wyman (1850-1922), wool merchant of Boston, Mass. Married in 1898 Mary Brewer Churchill (d. 1929). They had one child, Dorothy Churchill Wyman, artist and resident of Boston, Mass. She married ca. 1945 Robert C. Martin (1900-1973), his second marriage. His child by a first marriage was Dorothy Jane Martin.
Asaph Churchill (1814-1892), lawyer of Milton, Mass. Married in 1838 Mary Buckminster Brewer (d. 1860). Among their children was Gardner Asaph Churchill (1839-1896). Asaph Churchill m. (2nd) in 1862 Mary Anne Ware (d. 1886).
Gardner Asaph Churchill (1839-1896) m. in 1862 Ellen Brastow Barrett. Their children were Mary Brewer, Asaph, and Ellen Barrett Churchill. Mary Brewer Churchill m. Franklin A. Wyman.
Papers of Wyman and related Churchill family members, including account book (1794-1804) for general store (retail) of Abijah Wyman in Ashby, Mass.; unidentified woman's commonplace book (1834); recipe book, mostly for cakes (1840-41); narrative log of a trading voyage (1855-56) from Boston to Calcutta, India, and back kept by Gardner A. Churchill; family letters (1847-54) from Eunice P.H. Wyman to her son John S. Wyman; papers of Boston wool merchant Franklin A. Wyman; and correspondence and other papers of 20th c. artist Dorothy C. (Wyman) Martin, including a travel scrapbook. Also, many genealogical notes on the Wyman, Churchill, and related families.

I. Family Papers, 1794-1926
Account book (1794-1804) of Abijah Wyman, general store owner in Ashby, Mass.; an unidentified woman's commonplace book (1834); a recipe book, mostly for cakes (1840-41); a series of letters (1847-54) and typed transcriptions from Eunice Prescott Hildreth Wyman to her son John Sidney Wyman; some miscellaneous family items from the later 1800s; papers of wool merchant Franklin A. Wyman (1898-1926).
II. Personal Papers of Dorothy Churchill Wyman Martin, 1922-1988
Correspondence, ephemera, travel scrapbook (Europe and United States), list of books read, and a file relating to wills and trusts under which she benefitted.
III. Genealogical Papers
