This miniature portrait depicts Daniel Webster (1782-1852) shortly after he was elected to the U.S. Senate.  The miniature is by Sarah Goodridge (1788-1853), one of America's most distinguished and prolific minature painters, who worked in Boston between 1820 and 1850.
