This ring commemorates the death of Lady Frances (Barker) Shirley on August 31, 1746. Lady Frances was the wife of William Shirley, who was colonial governor of Massachusetts from 1741 to 1749 and 1753 to 1756, and later governor of the Bahamas.

The gold ring consists of four scrolled sections with black enamel. The dedication reads, “HONE- MRS- F SHIRLEY: OB:31:AU 1746: Æ:52[.]”
