In his second letter in response to St. George Tucker's queries, circulated by Jeremy Belknap, about slavery and abolition in Massachusetts, Samuel Dexter describes a petition, entrusted to him by Mr. Newton Prince (a lemon merchant), which he presented to a select committee of the House of Representatives.
