The Education of Henry Adams, by Henry Adams (1838-1918), was originally privately printed in 1907 (see view of the first page of this edition), and was more-widely published in 1918. In this book, Adams, writing in the third person, offers an account of his life and commentary on political and cultural events during the mid and late 19th century. This book won the Pulitzer Prize for biography and autobiography in 1919.
