In January 2004, the Society began making its finding aids, narrative descriptions
of manuscript or photograph collections, available online. During the past year the
number of online finding aids has increased from an initial 45 to almost 200. That
growth represents both the conversion of existing collection guides and the creation
of new finding aids. All of the Society's photograph collection guides are available
online, as well as more than half of the finding aids for its manuscript collections.
