Dennis Fiori Welcomed as New MHS DirectorMore than 120 members and friends of Society, including friends and former colleagues of Mr. Fiori from his previous career as director of the Concord Museum in Concord, Mass., attended a festive event to welcome Dennis Fiori as the sixth director of the MHS. The Diaries of John Quincy AdamsThis website presents images of the 51 volumes of John Quincy Adams' diary in the Adams Family Papers at the Massachusetts Historical Society. Adams began keeping his diary, more than 14,000 pages, in 1779 at the age of 12 and continued until shortly before his death in 1848. On May 4-6, the Society will host Remaking Boston: The City and Environmental Change Over the Centuries.More than a dozen scholars will present essays, circulated in advance, on aspects of how nature and human society have interacted in Boston since the 18th century. The conference will also include a keynote address by Professor Brian Donahue of Brandeis University, Thursday, 4 May, 5:30 PM.
