1. The Stone Library contains three sets of Montesquieu’s Oeuvres, the earliest published in London, 3 vols., 1769. JQA had two identical sets of De l’esprit des lois, 3 vols., Amsterdam, 1749; one is in the Stone Library, and the other in the Boston Athenaeum.
