1. Joseph Gales (1786–1860) and William Winston Seaton (1785–1866) were co-editors of the National Intelligencer, the Washington newspaper which strongly supported JQA’s administration ( DAB ). Clement Dorsey (1778–1848) was a Maryland Representative from 1825 to 1831 ( Biog. Dir. Cong. ).
