4. Capt. Benjamin Beale, a Braintree native, and his English-born wife settled in the

Squantum district in the 1780s, but built a home just west of the Adams' Old House in 1792, which still stands. Their sons Benjamin Jr. and George were good friends of the Adamses well into the nineteenth century. See
