A lady dinner. The only one for the season. Principally young people. Miss Brooks, Miss Selden, Miss Tayloe,1 Miss Roberdeaus,2 Miss Pleasonton, and Mrs. Everett. It was a pretty pleasant affair considering all things. The family of course.3
1. Presumably the daughter of John Tayloe, of Virginia and Washington.
2. Mary and Selina Roberdeau, daughters of Col. Isaac Roberdeau.
3. Daniel Pope Cook, the Illinois lame-duck Congressman, also attended the party (D/CFA/1).
