We have the Honor of inclosing to your Excellency a Protest,1
relative to one of our Vessells, which was made Prize of, by the English, when under
the Protection of the French Coast. As they have always reclaimed the Prizes made
by our Cruisers in such Circumstances, We hope your Excellency will think it just,
that We should be indemnified2
out of their Effects in this Kingdom. We have the Honor to be &c.
