Paper with a British revenue stamp
The endorsement (on page 2 attributed to William Cooper) identifies this paper with a British revenue stamp as "One of the Detestible Marks of Slavery...is one of those that were taken at New York." A note in Jeremy Belknap's hand indicates that this paper was pulled and saved from a bundle of paper that was burned in New York.
