  • Note: This is a copy of a letter which the Boston Town Meeting ordered JA and the committee of which he was a part to write, 18 Oct. 1769, (Boston Record Commissioners, 16th Rept., p. 299). The original letter, which JA did not sign, is also in Mass. Papers, Elwyn Gift, 1769–1777, No. 29. However, both texts were sent to De Berdt.
