- Archival Notes: This sketch of JA is substantially the same as that which appears among Rush's sketches of the Signers in his own Autobiography, written in 1800 (printed in Corner's edition, 1948, p. 140-144). There is no evidence as to when it was furnished to JA, quite possibly after Rush's death in 1813. Dated on the basis that it was filed in the Adams Papers following Rush's letter to JA, 13 April 1790 ( 061132), which quotes him an earlier version of it. Entered by ER 12/07/2015
