- Packet No. 1 "an account of the cause and extent of the National sentiments in G. Britain in favor of a reconciliation with the U. States." A fragment marked "A." Also some documents respecting the fisheries.
- Packet No. 2 contains, first, the copy of a corrected letter from September 1795; also "some remarks &c respecting [the] negotiations of 1782." Also "a small packet of papers" which includes 1 re "the mode of conducting the search after documents [on the Boundary] question"; 2 "the sentiments of Messrs Vergennes and Turgot respecting the course to be pursued by France and Spain" in the American Revolution; 3 "the tone used by the leader in ... revolutionary France in 1792" when Vergennes' Amer. policy was under discussion; 4 "a communication" from JA to Vaughan, 13 Jan. 1783 to be transmitted to Lansdowne.
