- "In a folder, 'Geo. Baer to John Adams, w/enclosure Resolves.' Copy (copied from the original in possession of Wm. W. Hayes, Sept. 18, 1860). The texts of four resolutions said to have been adopted at a very numerous meeting of the Inhabitants of the lower district of Washington County, Maryland, held at Sharpsburgh, 18th May 1798; along with the text of an Address to President John Adams congratulating him upon the unanimous spirit operating in support of the United States and against the republic of France, [as prepared by J.C., Chairman of the meeting, and sent to Representative George Baer, Jr. for presentation to the President in accordance with the fourth and final resolution.]" (Adams Papers Office files, Box 6, of NP Search). --SEG, 2/17/2010
