- "Copy of a ltr. ('Copied from the original in the hands of Mr. Deeth, Sep. 17, 1852.'): ...to Mr. Niles, Editor of the Weekly Register, Baltimore: Alleging employment in the discharge of his duty as a Barrister at Law in the Court of Judicature in the Town of and Country of Plymouth as to why at the time of the Boston Tea Party he was ignorant of the individuals who staged the affair. Eagerness to see another volume of Niles's Register, not having seen one for six months. Request that any of the several manuscripts Adams had sent, be returned if there was no intention to publish such. [Adams's final paragraph may have been omitted if Niles published the letter in his Register for May 29, 1819.]" (Adams Papers Office files, Box 6, of NP Search). --SEG, 2/17/2010
