A very early letter, and a fine example of his correspondence while away from home to Abigail Adams. The letter opens, "Mr. Trowbridge and his Lady Mr. Otis and his son and Mr. Winthrop will probably dine with you next Saturday—I have had an agreeable tour to Barnstable, whence I returned Saturday and kept Sabbath in this town. Cotton has got his case, seven pounds damages, and his town has chosen his representative—Col. Otis is chosen from Barnstable . . ." etc.
