George Washington Papers, Applications for Office, vol. 21, p. 37
This is a 1-sentence memo written on the cover of a letter addressed to George Washington by Mrs. Hannah Washington, 24 Feb. 1791 (according to Washington’s docketing). The Index to the George Washington Papers ascribes it to 1797, from a faint marking adjacent to JA’s memo, which reads: "I have filled all the Blanks as you desired and have no Objections to [2 words illegible]."
