[1] ADAMS, JOHN. 2nd President. A very handsome, handwritten SUMMONS (LS, 1p. 4to., United States, July 16 1798) to "William North, Senator for the State of New York." Requiring him "to attend at the Senate Chamber in Philadelphia at ten o'clock in the forenoon..to receive and deliberate on such communications as shall be made to you on my part." A rare, historically interesting item. Very attractive looking.
