Redated from n.d. [1797-1901?]. Filmed with the undated material on APM Reel 601 (on the 1st third of the reel).
The letter is a draft of Tufts' letter to Noah Webster, which was published in Webster's "Brief History of Epidemic and Pestilential Diseases," 2 vols., 1799 (letter extracted in 1:250), and fits with the 1798 correspondence between JA, Webster, and Tufts about the death of JA's father. --SM, 10/21/2010
