Collection Summary

Abstract

This collection consists of the papers of Bruce Crane (1909-1985), president of Crane and Company, Dalton, Mass., 1952-1985. Crane served as the 8th District Representative to the Governor's Council in Massachusetts and was active in Dalton town politics, the Massachusetts Republican State Committee, and the Republican National Committee. Papers include political files, speeches, scrapbooks, photographs, honors and awards, personal papers, materials pertaining to Crane & Co., and materials related to Crane's tenure on the Board of Directors of the Pittsfield Boys' Club in Pittsfield, Mass.

Biographical Sketch

Bruce Crane (1909-1985) was the president of Crane and Company, Dalton, Mass. He served as the 8th District Representative to the Governor's Council in Massachusetts for four years, as well as being active for many years on the Dalton Finance Committee, the Dalton School Committee, the Dalton Town Republican Committee, the Massachusetts Republican State Committee, and the Republican National Committee. He also served on the Boys' Club Board of Directors for many years in Pittsfield, Mass.

Bruce Crane married Winnie David Long and had two daughters.
