Abstract

This collection consists of the professional papers of Elisabeth M. Herlihy, Secretary of the Boston City Planning Board from its inception to 1936, and afterward a member of the Board; also editor of Fifty Years of Boston: A Memorial Volume (Boston, 1932) and author of other pamphlets on Boston history. The collection includes documents relating to the memorial volume; notes and articles regarding the American City Planning Institute and the Massachusetts Federation of Planning Boards; material regarding city, state, and national celebrations of George Washington's birthday; general correspondence; and other miscellaneous matter on cities and towns in Massachusetts.
