Abstract
This collection consists primarily of correspondence, notes, speeches, writings, and other papers of Boston, Mass. lawyer Frank W. Grinnell.
Collection Description
The papers of Frank W. Grinnell, Boston, Mass. lawyer and secretary of the Massachusetts Bar Association, include correspondence, notes, speeches, and writings related to his career, his involvement in professional associations, and the Massachusetts Constitutional Convention of 1917-1919. The collection also contains papers of his father Charles E. Grinnell, a Boston lawyer; Grinnell family genealogical materials; and papers and orders to Joseph F. Green of the U.S. Navy during the Civil War and as president of the Naval General Court-Martial.

Materials Removed from the Collection
Scrapbooks were removed from the Frank W. Grinnell papers and cataloged separately in June 1992. See separate descriptions of three daguerreotypes (Photos. 1.316-318) and one ambrotype (Photo. 2.76), which are stored in the MHS Photo Archives by format. The following additional photographs have been removed from the collection: 1 oversize box of photographs and reproductions (Photo. Coll. U-218) and 1 box of 73 lantern slides (Photo. Coll. 6.17).
