Collington was wounded
in the leg & probably will have
to have his leg amputated.
His father has called for him
to-day & we told him he was
wounded & that the surgeon
at the Hospital wanted some
one detailed to take care of
him & Lieu't Coffin offered
to get him detailed from his
Reg't (the 9th Mass) if he desired
which offer he gladly accepted.
6 P.M. are ordered back
to our old camp near
Elk
mountain where we expect
to rejoin our old Battery
