& immediately put spurs
to his horse & rapidly passed
out of sight down the mountain
not stopping untill within a
short distance of Middletown,
Cap't Cook & Evans Coffin
soon recovered from the
panic & soon succeeded
in getting some of the guns
in position a short distance
from their 1st position &
succeeded in keeping the
enemy from taking the two
guns left on the field
untill the Infantry
