who was so unfortunate as to have a Slave
conceal himself on Board his Schooner Susan
nah, Edward Goodrich master in
Point Petre
October 3d -- Captn
Goodrich after getting to
Sea found him on Board --
The particular Situation this Gentleman
is under - is - that his Schooner which is
now ready for Sea will be exposed to the
Laws of the
West India Islands unless such
Steps are taken here as to indemnify him
Captn Wells has confined him
in Gaol
upon an Action of Debt for his Passage &c
he is recommended to apply to your Excellen
cy and the french Consule for Relief --
The good Character this Gentleman bears in
this Place induces me to recommend him
to your Attention in this Matter --
