Benjamin Lincoln about a letter of introduction for Thomas Porter; a recent delivery of food; legislation in the Maryland and Virginia assemblies to improve and extend the navigation of the Potomac River to connect the Atlantic states with the western territories; and a company to be incorporated for that purpose, later known as the Potomac Company.
