Letter from John Adams to Abigail Adams, 23 March 1796

My Dearest Friend

I note the difficulties mentioned in your kind favour of the 12th [Abigail to John, 12 March 1796] . I promise you to be quite satisfied with what ever you do and agree to with the Tenants.

I have only time at present to enclose you a Letter, which will compensate for the Deficiency of mine. It is a Curse to be surrounded with fools from ones own Country who always give more trouble than all the rest as I have long experienced and my son now experiences.

Senate have determined Mr. Marshalls affair but the House have not yet decided their Question. All will be well however. Our Weather is now fine.

A few days must bring Us fresh News. I am as ever
