My Dearest Friend
We reachd here last night and expect to get to East Chester to dine. Brisler will proceed on to N York and to Philadelphia as soon as possible. I have furnishd him with Money to pay for his carriage and Horses but this dissables me, from paying for my own, which otherways I could have done. So that I cannot leave N York untill I receive from you the Sum I requested you to send me. When I get to East Chester I shall send in to N York to see if I have any Letter there. The Roads are so Bad, and the Rains so heavy since we left Home, that I do not expect to get on to Muckeleroys untill Wednesday noon. Brisler thinks he can get me Horses upon a better [illegible] , than these will proceed with. I have directed him to try, and I am to have word from him to morrow. I shall leave N York on Monday morning.
With sincere desire to meet you soon in good Health
