Possibly the Illinois politician, John Reynolds (1789–1865), who was friendly with Adams men and whose own supporters included a kinsman of LCA (Pease, Frontier State , p. 96–97).

Dr. William Thornton (see entry for 28 Oct. 1825, above) was noted, among many other things, for his fine race horses (Columbia Hist. Soc., Records , 18[1915]:181).
