Remained at home, writing up arrears and also some lettesr. Took a walk to the railway station at Acton in the middle of the day for a business purpose, but his consumed a valuable quality of the small allowance of day light at this season. Mr Kuhn who went to London brought with him the letters and newspapers from America which were very interesting as giving the details of the election. We had to drive Mrs Francis Brooks, my wife’s neice and her eldest daughter. She is on her way home from Paris, where she has been spending a month with Mr & Mrs Edward Brooks.
