8. I passed the day at home, untill the Evening when I took a long walk, and observed the setting Sun—its Southern declination is very perceptible from day to day— I involved myself deeper in the labyrinth of enquiries concerning weights & measures, and the further I proceed, increase uncertainties and different reports from different authorities. Mr: Everett and Mr: Gray dined abroad; at Mr: Glukoff’s; but were here in the Evening.
