30. IX:30. Of course no Morning before Breakfast— Between that and dinner, I answered Mr Caldecott’s Letter, and appointed Tuesday next at three O’Clock to see him at the Office in Craven Street— Also Mr Rawle’s Letter, and promised to introduce him at the Levee, and at the Drawing-Room, when the opportunities shall occur. Continued the endeavour to bring up my Journal, but without making much progress this day. John and Charles came home from school— Mrs Adams was quite ill; confined to her bed all the latter part of the day; and did not dine with us— We received Cards, from the Lord Mayor to me, and from the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress to Mrs Adams, to the dinner on Easter Monday at the Mansion house— [symbols]
