I received yours1yesterday. I rejoyse to hear that all are well. With respect to the Ditto mentioned I shall take cair about. I am abile to walk about am very sore. The Small Pox has fell much into one of my Leggs so that I am Lame as yeat but begin to walk expect to goo a Broad in 3 Day from this Day. Am allmost Dry. Expect to be fit to Returne Home by the midal of next week. I would have Mrs. McKinstry send my Horse at that time on Less I send to the reverse before. If she can as handily send a Carrage as not it may be as well. If she send a Horse I would have her borrow Mr. Adams Large Sadel Baggs and I would have her send a few Ptatts Potatoes of Salley Le Barron2 to me.

Sir, I find my Bill much Larger than I Expected Should be obligist to you if you would Lit me have one more Johannas by those that bring my Horse. From Sr. your obligist Friend & Humble Servt.

Probably Mrs. McKinstry's niece Sarah LeBaron (1749–1823), who on July 14, 1764, married William Hazen of Haverhill. In 1773 they moved to St. John, New Brunswick, where he was a member of the Governor's Council for many years (DCB).

Taunton May 30th. 1764 Sr.,

I recd. yrs. sometime ago containing an Acct. agt. Nathl. White but knowing his affairs here to be much under par & not supposing he or his Effects would ever return here I made no perticular Answer, but a man is just arrived from the West Indies Antigua who saith NW died of the small Pox in his Passage there & he Administered on his Effects & has brought them here.1But I am not able to proceed agt. him for want of proper Materials, Vizt. you have charged him in yr. Acct. Debtor to Cash lent pr. bond but before I can draw the Writ I must have the bond, at least the Copy of it. Send me likewise his Written orders for lnsurance. I have entertained some hope that you have got the money of him or at least part. lf you have not you'll be speedy in yr. answer for the creditors here begin to Stir, & I'll do the best I can to secure it. Mrs. RW2 insists on my visiting Philada. this fall & I believe I must. If any thing should offer pray be mindful of it for her sake. With Respect?

The estate of Nathaniel White, innholder of Taunton, was administered by Thomas Morey. An undated inventory of the estate showed a debt to RTP of £1.2.8 but did not mention debts owed to Richard Smith among total debts of £815.0.11. The estate was ruled insolvent, paying 7s.9d. on the pound (Bristol Co. Probate 19:116, 118, 120).
