Robert Treat Paine Papers, Volume 2

Trustees &c. vs. Lambert for July Court, & give it to a trusty Coroner.
I have many Things to say to you upon Law, Theology & politicks, but as I have not time (the Bearer being in haste) to unburthen myself entirely, I will keep all till God gives another Oportunity to Your Friend & Bror.

Agreable to your Desire I recognized for you in the action you mentioned. You say of my Demand agst. Lambert, I Shewed you no Lr. & you've forgot what it was. You've certainly then forgot that I not only Shewed but gave you the Lr. at my Door while you were on your Horse, by the Same Token that I hailed you at Green's Corner & desired you to wait while you I fetch'd you the Lr., but your patience giving up, you rode after me to the House where I did it ut Suprâ.1 But Love, Love! I suppose.
Pray enquire of Crossman, what has become of Shepherds Excon vs Andrews.2 He's impatient for his money, as he's about going to the W. Indies. Your Care in this will add a new obligation to the many conferred on Your respectfull Friend & Br.
PS: my poor Wife has been Sick very Sick, these Two months, therefore no Letter.
