Resolved, That there be allowed and paid out of the Treasury of this State to the Hon. Robert Treat Paine, Esq., Seven Thousand five Hundred Pounds, in full for his services as State-Attorney from January 1, 1779, to January 1, 1780.

I have just recd. yrs.1 by Capt. Randell, & have laid your proposal before the Council, & after fully explaining the matter they have passed the enclosed Order not doubting you will make a discreet use of it;
I yesterday sent you by Mr. Jacob Hoskins 5 blank Commissions in Consequence of a verbal order from you brought by him for that purpose. I trust they have come to hand before this. I wish you sucess in discovering hypocrites.
