Resolved that there be paid out of the public Treasury to the Honble. Robert Treat Paine, Esqr., for his services as Attorney General, from his first appointment in June, 1777, to the first day of January last, the sum of Nine hundred pounds.1

RTP noted in his diary, “chosen Attorney General again” (Feb. 10, 1779); the previous month, “recd. a notification from the Sctry. that I was yesterday chosen Councellor in the room of Danl. Hopkins Esqr. resigned” (Jan. 14).
