A marriage license was issued to Richard Huggen, clothier, and Anne Wincolle of Little Waldingfield, November 4, 1583. Sudbury Archdeaconry, Acta Book, fo. 50.
Probably John Plumbe of Boxford, clothier. In his will, proved June 23, 1623, he leaves to his grandchild, John Lomax, “one meadow of copyhold land in Groaton which I bought of Mr. Adam Wintroppe.” H. F. Waters, Genealogical Gleanings in England (Boston, 1901), II. 1413–14.
John Still (1543?–1608), bishop of Bath and Wells, and reputed author of Gammer Gurton’s Needle. His first wife was Anne, daughter of Thomas Alabaster of Hadleigh, and his sister Alice was the first wife of the diarist. Muskett, 76;

Trinity College, Cambridge, founded in 1546 by King Henry VIII. The payment was for Adam Winthrop’s services as auditor of the college, references to which will also be found later in the Diary. Winthrop matriculated fellow-commoner from Magdalene College, Cambridge, Michaelmas, 1567, but does not appear to have proceeded to a degree. Venn, A. C.

Buried at Groton, August 13, 1598. His tomb in Groton Church bears the inscription: “Here lyeth the Body of | Lewes Kedbye, whoe had to wyue Jane Kedbye by whome he had issue IIII | sones and vj daughters, and de | ceased ye XIII of August An. 1598, being about ye age of XXXIX years.” Cf. Of Groton, clothier, buried May 29, 1619. His wife, Dorothy, died March 2, 1604–05.
