Trinity College, Cambridge, founded in 1546 by King Henry VIII. The payment was for Adam Winthrop’s services as auditor of the college, references to which will also be found later in the Diary. Winthrop matriculated fellow-commoner from Magdalene College, Cambridge, Michaelmas, 1567, but does not appear to have proceeded to a degree. Venn, A. C.

His tomb in Groton Church bears the inscription: “Here lyeth the Body of | Lewes Kedbye, whoe had to wyue Jane Kedbye by whome he had issue IIII | sones and vj daughters, and de | ceased ye XIII of August An. 1598, being about ye age of XXXIX years.” Cf. John Boggys or Boggas of Edwardstone, yeoman, died April 1, 1607.

The manor of Bowerhouse, Borehouse, or Bowrehall in Boxford had been purchased by John (later Sir John) Huddlestone in 1553, descended successively to his sons William and Edmund, and passed, through the marriage of their sister Alice, to Sir Thomas Lovell, who held it at his death in 1604.
