Since your former I received lately by an Indian messendger your last, wherin yow mencion the Claime that is made to the Mattabeseicke Sachims2 land, lately deceased, mediating that they might not be preiudiced in ther Rights. the truth is we are most vnwillinge to offer them the least Iniury in that kind. the case is really this, we have a pretty space since in the life time of that Sachim that is nowe departed, bought his land, and have it vnder his hand with witnes etc. and are at the time of his death to enter vppon the whole, and it being the most considerable place of the River for Plantation not yet planted, we can by noe meanes tollerate ther residence in that place I cannot advise as the Case stands for Miantonimo to send his sonne hither for ther will vndoubtedly be greater hasard of the safety of his person, then he is aware of. I shall acquaint yow with the reason of my thoughts when I see yow which I hope will be with the rest of the Company about the beginninge of the 3d month next.
