Positive photostat from photostats in the New York Public Library, originals in the possession (1934) of Mrs. Townsend Phillips of New York City: "Not to be used or quoted i any written article or book without the permission of Mrs. Phillips."
- "At pp. 104-111: Positive photostat of 'Copy of letterpress sheets fading out by time:' 'Remarks in General Marshall's letter of the 12th. of November & Mr. Pickering's of the 10th of December 1798 to Mr. Gerry, respectfully submitted by the latter to the President of the United States of America.'"
