- Entries from 2 April 1833 to end are exclusively commentary on daily Bible reading (no diary entries).
- Entries from 29 June-29 Dec. 1829 consist of lists and inventories of both JA's and JQA's clothes, trunks, land to be surveyed, and other memoranda.
- Entries from 1 March 1831 - 4 July 1832 are daily rhymed versions of the Psalms accompanying short daily rough notes for the Diary.
- Written in on the back of an invitation to dine from [P.C.] Brooks, 6 June 1843 (?), is Psalm 33, pasted in.
